Game Studios Defend Abortion Rights

Many game studios have made statements about their opinion on Roe v. Wade being overturned this week. Roe v. Wade has been in place for 50 years but this decision has left it up to the states to make the laws that will give or take away the right to abortions. This overturn was a 6-3  decision.

Studios have made statements that stand with woman’s rights to abortions and healthcare. One of these studios was Bungie the creator of Destiny 2, Bungie has made it clear that they believe in women’s healthcare.

Bungie has also made a statement in a newsletter that stated,

Bungie is committed to ensuring that every one of our employees and their families have safe and affordable access to essential healthcare needs. As we continue to expand our digital-first workplace to more states, we will now be implementing a travel reimbursement program for any employee to use when they or a dependent cannot get access to the healthcare they need where they live.
Insomniac Games has also made a statement about their view on the Roe v, Wade being overturned and what they think about the rights of women. In a tweet, Insomniac stated that,
Reproductive freedom and bodily autonmony are human rights.

Co-president of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann has also made a statement, “I support NARAL in access to reproductive rights and bodily autonomy”. Druckmann donated money towards  NARAL and asked that other people do the same.

There are many more Studios that has made statements on this topic and what their thoughts are on the overturning of Roe v. Wade and what they are doing to help out women.
