A new look at Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, which will launch in 2024 for the Xbox Series X/S and PC, has been shown off at The Game Awards 2023.
The trailer was preceded by a live performance of one of the game’s songs, and gave the best look yet at the game’s world and combat, while also showcasing the game’s incredible visuals. It all looks very cinematic, making it a bit difficult to determine what is gameplay and what is a cutscene, but we appear to get glimpses of the intense combat system and some cave exploration.
The game’s official blurb provides the following description: “The sequel to the award winning Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Senua returns in a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland.” The first game is currently available for only $4.49 on the Xbox store, and is also included with Xbox Game Pass.
Initially announced in 2019, with its first look at the 2021 Game Awards, the release date for the sequel has still yet to be narrowed down from sometime in 2024. Besides that, we still don’t have that much to go off of for the game, though the date is still set for next year.
