In a new preview from The Game Awards, an interesting title brought to us by Lightspeed Studios titled Last Sentinel, has made its debut on the worldwide stage.
While there’s not much to extrapolate from the trailer itself, Last Sentinel’s official website reveals some more details. Last Sentinel looks to be an open-world action game, likely be something on a faster side considering Hiromi Shoda, the protagonist’s, fast paced ninja-esque style and motorcycle combat. On the ninja side of things, the game clearly has a cyberpunk influence with the massive ominous skyscrapers and cityscapes towering over the Japanese style shrine that Last Sentinel’s protagonist fights an armored cyborg security force in, explained in the video preview to even be a dark futuristic cyberized Tokyo. The official site sheds a bit more light on the game’s concept, revealing it to be an open-world game.
Set decades from now in a reconstructed Tokyo, you play as Hiromi Shoda in LAST SENTINEL, a narrative-focused, open-world action game.
It’ll be interesting to see how this game follows up on the cyberpunk settings and themes that have been on the rise in the video game world lately between Cyberpunk 2077 and Ghostrunner. If you’re interested in cyberpunk and dark future settings, Last Sentinel is definitely a title to look out for going forward, so be sure to follow Last Sentinel’s TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to stay up to date on all of Last Sentinel’s latest updates.
