Today, Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the final solo adventure of the Year of the Dragon, Galakrond’s Awakening Chapter 1 is now available to play in Hearthstone. Players will get to “experience the story of Arch-Villian Rafaam’s master plan from both sides as you play through two adventures in one.” Each chapter in Galakrond’s Awakening will have cards as rewards that can be added to your collection.
In The League of E.V.I.L. chapter of Battle of the Frozen Coast, players will take control of characters such as Kriziki and Madame Lazul as The League of E.V.I.L. attempts to complete their master plan. As Dalaran soars through the skies carrying the Plague of Undead, Rafaam attempts to resurrect Galakrond in order to become the villain of all villains.
The League of E.V.I.L. portion of chapter 1 is free to all players including the four reward cards. There are three encounters in the chapter including a fight with Sir Finley. The cards that players will get rewarded after completing The League of E.V.I.L. chapter 1 are Air Raid, Eye of the Storm, Twisted Knowledge, and Bomb Wrangler.
In The League of Explorers chapter, it’s a race to try and stop Dalaran who is on the way to Northrend carrying the Plague of Undead after being victorious in the deserts of Uldum. The League of Explorers understands that wherever Rafaam goes, trouble isn’t far away. Players will begin the chapter by taking control of Brann Bronzebeard who will have to deal with Dr. Boom as they make their way to Northrend.
In addition to the four cards earned as rewards, The League of Explorers chapter 1 comes with three bonus cards. The reward cards are Skydiving Instructor, Animated Avalanche, Winged Guardian, and Dark Prophecy. The three bonus cards include Shadow Sculptor, Licensed Adventurer, and Fresh Scent.
Players can buy the complete Chapter 1 for $6.99 or 700 gold to immediately unlock the League of Explorers campaign with the four collectible card rewards and the three bonus cards. The Galakrond’s Awakening bundle includes all chapters and can be purchased for $19.99. The remaining chapters will be released weekly with Chapter II coming on January 28, Chapter III – February 4, and Chapter IV – February 11.
