Full Version of Paper Mario: Origami King Leaked Online a Week Before Official Release

Despite the official release of Paper Mario: The Origami King coming next week, leak of the game has surfaced online. Confirmed by Nikki, one of Twitter’s most followed Nintendo game data-miners, the leak of the game included the release of a large amount of spoiler-filled content. This isn’t the first Paper Mario title that has leaked early, with 2016’s Paper Mario: Color Splash being made accidentally available two weeks prior to its release on the Nintendo eShop. Similar to the infamous Last of Us 2 leak a week prior to the game’s release, the leak is supposedly full of content that includes endgame details and major plot details. So to those interested in playing Paper Mario: The Origami King spoiler-free should tread social media and live-streaming platforms carefully until the game’s official release next week.

Nintendo has already released a lot of information for the upcoming Paper Mario game, including deep looks into the into of the story, some of the characters, and the classic turn-based combat mechanic. The Nintendo Treehouse event from earlier this month also included a huge look at the game, with a 30-minute long gameplay coverage. The leak also revealed a number of spoilers including the official concept art from the museum, the game’s final boss, and a lot of text from in-game, as confirmed by Gaming Reinvented.

Regardless, Nintendo has not released an official statement about the leak, but any announcements they may have will be linked in this article. The official release of the sixth installment in the Paper Mario series, Paper Mario: The Origami King will be releasing next week on July 17th for the Nintendo Switch. Information about pre-orders and bonus content for the game can be found in other mxdwn articles and the game’s official website here.
