Character development can be a gripping thing when playing a video game. It can subconsciously be the main detail that hooks you to the plot as you feel and empathize with the character and their struggles. The Last of Us wove together a story that did this tremendously well by tailoring small details that really brought characters to life as the story unfolded. Ellie’s story, in particular, may not seem like it at first glance but is very dark. The struggles she was forced to overcome at such a young age has shaped her for good and bad. Now a new video promoting the release of the Last of Us Remastered on the PS Plus lineup for October shows her struggle in just one minute. Now is the time to play the original if you haven’t done so already to better understand Ellie and her struggle when Part II releases.
As the video begins we see Ellie as she was at the start of the original game. Younger, brighter, and as most remember, spunky with a smartass attitude. Ellie felt she could take on anything, and she did in The Last of Us but it came with a cost. As time went by death became the norm, and loss along with that. We begin to see the change in Ellie between the first and second game. As many have realized now, Ellie has become use to death. We have seen in the most recent reveals of the Last of Us Part II, Ellie has become a skilled killer but is also filled with rage and a sense of vengeance.
The Last of Us Part II has finally received a release date recently making it the perfect time to play the original’s remastered edition free of charge. The Last of Us Remastered is now part of PS Plus’s free titles available for download at any time till November 4th. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to partake in one of the best stories video games have to offer to date and really understand the reasons behind Ellie’s struggles when Part II releases February 21, 2020.
