Friday the 13th Gives Players All Unlocks and More Months Before Being Delisted

Friday the 13th: The Game is getting delisted from sale later this year, and so the developer Gun Media have given the title one last farewell by giving all players numerous unlocks and level boosts all for free. Gun Media posted the announcement update directly on their Twitter listing what players can expect. Gun Media noted that the reason for the free incentives was to “help reduce the dependence on database servers.”

The update will give players the following:

30 Legendary Perks Awarded to All

  • Most Popular Perks
  • No Negative Effects
  • Best Roll Possible

All Players: Level 150

All Kills Unlocked

All Challenge Skulls Unlocked

No XP/CP Earned

No Matchmaking Functionality Lost

The changes provide all players with the maxed-out benefits, including all of Jason Kills, all legendary perks, all Challenge Skulls unlocked, and the removal of negative effects. Players however won’t be given DLC kills, but it’s been heavily discounted to a mere $0.99 charge. The DLC will remain up until Friday the 13th is removed effective December 31st, 2023. Gun Media has stated that currently Friday the 13th will stay working through the next year until December 31st, 2024. From there on it’s unclear what will see of the title.

Originally released in 2017, the survival horror game put players in the iconic film franchise of the same name, where up to seven players work together as counselors at Camp Crystal Lake, while one player controls Jason Voorhees seeking to hunt and kill each player down. The game released to largely mixed reviews, and was unable to catch on fully for players. In 2020 the game servers were shut down due to licensing issues, but still available through peer-to-peer matchmaking. While Friday the 13th: The Game is in its final months ahead, Gun Media is still developing another asymmetrical survival horror based upon The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
