Four New Backwards Compatible Games Now On Xbox One

Calling out to all Xbox gamer boys and girls because your gaming world just got way more exciting. Larry Hryb who also goes by his Xbox Live Gamertag Major Nelson, has announced that four more games are now backwards compatible on Xbox One. The first three previous games released on Xbox One were all a part of the Lost Planet series and the fourth being a Resident Evil game.

For any new comers into the gaming community or as a refresher, backwards compatibility is when computer hardware or software  can be used with an older piece of hardware or software without having to make any kind of changes to it. All three of the Lost Planet games which are Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Lost Planet 2 and 3 are all now backwards compatible along with their gold edition of the first game titled Lost Planet: Colonies. A few other games that are now backwards compatible on Xbox is an extended cut version of a game that originally released on Dreamcast and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X.

The Lost Planet franchise which was published by Capcom follows of a series of shooters in different protagonist’s point of view and throughout their hardships the players find out that all of them live on a planet in the midst of an ice age. Throughout the series gameplay evolves, but it mainly focuses on surviving the harsh environment. There will be loads of action going about with shootouts from alien creatures or soldiers from corporations in a strong pursuit of wanting to take over the planet.

When Lost Planet first released in 2007 many players enjoyed the game calling it a great action game for it’s tense and action packed battles. However, many gamers were not a fan of Lost Planet 2 or its sequel calling it “broken” and “downright frustrating” missions as well as a lack of maintaining the games identity. On the other hand, Joe Fielder reviewed Resident Evil Code: Veronica X praising if for its soundtrack and visuals as well as enjoying the storytelling even if it displayed a few cheesy moments.

In order to play any of the Xbox games listed above you will need to either own their physical Xbox 360 copy or purchase their digital versions from the Xbox Live marketplace. For more information and details on up coming game news go here and read all about your favorite games.
