One of Xbox’s bigger game releases for the year is the next entry in the Forza Horizon series with Forza Horizon 6. Playground Games is set to showcase the first look at the game next week during the next Developer_Direct. However, some information may have been leaked early: the game’s release date.
The information comes from a post from Xbox Infinite, an Xbox news source based on X. They posted an image of an announcement that they claim appeared “inside the game.” The post doesn’t say a specific release date but does mention Early Access starting 4 days early starting on May 15. So, it appears that Forza Horizon 6 will launch on May 19.
Sources have told VGC that this is the correct release window.
According to the post, in addition to Early Access, the Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 6 will include a VIP membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, and Time Attack Car Pack. In addition, the Italian Passion Car Pack and 2 Premium Expansions will be coming to the game post-launch.
Forza Horizon 6 will send players to Japan. “While we’re not announcing too much in terms of detail right now, we’re excited to show fans the true breadth of beauty – both natural and urban environments – that Japan has to offer,” art director Don Arceta said following the game’s announcement last year.
“From the neon lights and towering buildings of Tokyo City – one of our most detailed and layered environments to date – to the serenity and natural beauty of Japan’s rural and mountain areas, we think players will be blown away by the open world of Japan that we have built.
“And while we are not necessarily trying to recreate Japan and its environments like for like, our goal has always been to capture the country’s unique cultural essence and present it back in the most Horizon way possible.”
Playground Games isn’t just showing off Forza Horizon 6 next week. They will also be showcasing and talking about the highly anticipated Fable reimagining that they are also working on. Game Freak’s Beast of Reincarnation will also be a part of the Developer_Direct which is set to release on January 22, 2026, at 10 am PT.
