Doctor Strange, Titan Tanks and the removal of building can be expected as a part of the new Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 2 update Developer Epic Games has just launched on March 20. The new battle pass includes unlockable skins such as Doctor Strange, who can be seen joining the fight in the Resistance story trailer. Ahead of the launch of the new season, Epic Games announced that they will commit all of its Fortnite proceeds to humanitarian relief for Ukraine from March 20 through April 3. This means that anyone interested in tapping into the Fortnite battle pass will not only unlock the magic of Doctor Strange, but will also be donating to a handful of humanitarian aid relief organizations including the United Nations Children’s Fund.
The most major change to the game is the temporary removal of the build feature, which has been the most distinct feature of the long-running multiplayer battle-royale. In all multiplayer game modes except Arena, building can be expected to be disabled for 9 days. Since protection is typically created by building, a regenerating overshield feature has been added to allow for at least 50 extra hit points of damage to be sustained.
Since Fortnite was first released back in 2017, the game has not seen much adjustment to its movement capabilities until December of 2021, where a sliding mechanic (which now also opens doors) was added as a part of the beginning of Chapter 3. Now, Fortnite has implemented a faster default “tactical sprint” speed along with a sprint meter to calculate sprint stamina. Mantling has been added as well, which lets players grab onto ledges if they fall a little short. Along with sliding into doors to open them, players can shoulder bash into doors as they sprint into them.

More story-based additions/changes to the map include place of interest (POI) disputes, where Resistance and IO opponents may overcome blimps or Armored Battle Buses, turrets and more. New machinery has been added to the AI opposition all players have to deal with every once and while such as IO Titan Tanks, which can be hi-jacked to be used for barreling through obstacles and blowing up foes with its machine gun turret. Like any vehicle in Fortnite, the Titan Tank can be destroyed, but there is a new Repair Torch that can heal it. The Repair Torch can be picked up and held near a vehicle to restore its health bar to full. A list of new and returning weapons can be found here.
Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 2 will end near the turn of summer on June 3.
