Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 has Been Postponed to a Later Date

Fortnite has become one of the biggest games of this generation and it continues to grow be that after its first released in 2017. Every new season provides players with something new from the battle pass to updates on the map. Season 3 of Chapter 2 was set to begin at the end of the month but that’s no longer the case.

Epic Games, the company that created Fortnite, made an announcement on Tuesday afternoon about postponing the release of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 now set to be released in June. Being that now the season is now coming out at a later date, Chapter 2 Season 2 of Fortnite will continue to extend the season. The Fortnite team made a statement on their website saying “We’re extending Chapter 2 – Season 2 of  Fortnite beyond the original April 30 date. Our plan is to launch Chapter 2 – Season 3 on June 4”. Epic continues on to talk about the current season. They continue to state, “Before then, there’s lots of content coming in the current Season. We have multiple game updates on the way that will deliver fresh gameplay, new Challenges, bonus XP, and a couple more surprises up our sleeves”.

Now Epic Games hasn’t gone into any specific details into the reasoning why they decided to postpone Season 3 but many speculate that due to current events of the COVID-19 pandemic going on in the country right now. Just like many companies are practicing, the Epic team decided to move their equipment and workspace at their homes which will evidently make the process of the developing new season to slow down. As Epic Games are taking safety precautions for their team, they wanted their fans to know that about the current situation they are in at the moment and tell them what’s new for Season 2.
