After the leak of Fortnite: Chapter 2 and the destruction of the previous map over the weekend where the meteor crash-landed and plunged the world of Fortnite into a black hole causing everyone in the world to take notice, the game is officially back with as it was leaked, a new map. A new map wasn’t the only addition to Fortnite: Chapter 2 as new gameplay features and a new XP system have been introduced.
The new map features 13 new locations: Retail Row, Pleasant Park, Salty Springs, Steamy Stacks, Holly Hedges, Sweaty Sands, Lazy Lake, Misty Meadows, Slurpy Swamp, Weeping Woods, Craggy Cliffs, Dirty Docks, and Frenzy Farm. New gameplay features include new water gameplay such as swimming, fishing, motorboats, and more. You can also support your squad in a number of ways with the bandage bazooka or the new carry mechanic to get your teammates to safety. There are also new group emotes like high fives.Players will be able to hide in haystacks and dumpsters to get the drop on opponents or you can blow up gas tanks and explosive barrels. Fortnite: Chapter 2 brings in a streamlined weapon arsenal that you can upgrade with resources at the upgrade bench.
Lastly, Fortnite: Chapter 2 includes an all-new battle pass with a new XP system and medals that you earn while playing the game. Medals can be earned from doing pretty much anything such as getting resources, looting chests and ammo boxes, and taking out opponents. The battle pass comes with new skins, wraps, gliders, emotes, axes, backpacks, and loading screens.
In other battle royale related news, Apex Legends has kicked off their newest event called Fight or Fright. The Fight or Fright Collection Event will reward players with limited time loot, two Legendary weapon skins, 24 themed, limited time cosmetics and a new special event game mode called Shadowfall which takes place in a night-version of King’s Canyon. Shadowfall is a 35 player free-for-all where dead players come back as undead versions of their characters. The Fight or Fright Collection Event lasts from October 15-November 5.
