Developed by Binary Impact and Alchemical Works, Forensics: Crime Scene Detective is a simulation game where players act as a forensic scientist. They will provide investigators with the facts, finding clues and evidence that have gone unnoticed. Uncover the truth through fingerprints, deleted messages, microscopic blood splatters, and more.
There are a range of professional equipment available, including DNA swabs, fingerprint powder, ballistic trajectory rods, and digital forensic tools. Missions and evidence gathering are based off real scenarios and insight from the State Criminal Police Office Rhineland-Palatinate. This insight not only creates authentic cases for players to complete, but also enhances the simulation with realism.
However, gathering evidence from the crime scene is only one part of the gameplay as players must analyze their findings in the lab. They will be able to compare DND profiles, reconstruct bullet trajectories, and decrypt digital devices. All to piece together the truth revealed. Once completed, the analysis will either incriminate the perpetrators or exonerate the innocent.
In this game, not every bloody crime scene means a murder has taken place. It is a simulation where what seems obvious is not always tied to the truth of what happened. It is up for the players to discover what took place going into each investigation. They decide what evidence makes it back to the lab. Any that are overlooked can risk leaving cases unsolved, making their choices matter.
Last month, the publishers Aerosoft posted the official trailer for the game on their YouTube channel. It displays the type of crime scenes players can expect to investigate and how gathering evidence is conducted. Mission maps will range from apartment units to public spaces such as bars.
Forensics: Crime Scene Detective is releasing on July 13, 2026 and will be available for purchase through Steam, the Playstation 5 store, and on Xbox. There is also a demo available for PC players on Steam, which reached 80,000 downloads on Friday July 3rd.
