For Honor’s ‘Marching Fire’ Expansion is Getting an Open Test Next Week

Ubisoft has announced that For Honor, its multiplayer action fighting game, will be granting access to testing for its upcoming expansion, Marching Fire. The open test takes place next week, from September 6 through 10. Entry to the test is free, and players won’t have to own the full For Honor game to participate in it.

The Marching Fire expansion adds playable Chinese Wu Lin fighters, which will be available to play in the test alongside all the game’s playable heroes. Within the Wu Lin, players will be able to fight as a  Shaolin Monk, a Nuxia, a Jiang Jun fighter, and a Tiandi. Additionally, players will have access to some new maps. “You’ll be able to try out the new Heroes in 1v1 combat in Duel mode, or charge into the new 4v4 Breach mode on all three Breach maps,” Ubisoft wrote. “Both modes will be playable in PvE, PvP, and Custom matches on dedicated servers.”

In the upcoming breach mode, gameplay is centered around teamwork and castle sieges. “Breach mode pits two teams of four against each other – one side as attackers, the other as defenders –in a full-blown castle siege,” Ubisoft added. The attacking team’s goal is to utilize a battering ram to breach the defense’s castle, while the defending team “must stop the attackers at all costs.” The open test will also be players’ first chance to check out the new gameplay features coming with Marching Fire. This includes “a new perks system, the victory celebration screen, a new responsive dialogue system, team voice chat, and a UI refresh.”

In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
