Five New Hostiles Will Terrorize Rainbow Six Siege Players in Outbreak Event

Last month, Ubisoft teased a new event for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Just a few days ago, they decided to release more details about the upcoming co-op event: specifically, what kind of enemies players might encounter along the way.

As it turns out, a parasite is behind this outbreak of violence in a sleepy desert town. This has led to five types of infected human for Rainbow Operators to contend with. The mission will be to discover the source of the parasite and stop it before it spreads.

First, there are Grunts, your garden-variety armored infected humans. Then there are Breachers, proximity bombs just waiting to leave a crater in the spot you were standing. These are both common and will likely be encountered often by any operative team.

Rooters are fast and mobile and will spring spikes up from the ground underneath their unsuspecting victims. The intel suggests that even when near death they are extremely hostile and dangerous. Smashers are big bullet sponges that can crash through walls.

Finally, at the top of the hostile food chain: Apex. This dangerous foe will hang back and send waves of enemies your way, while simultaneously lobbing blinding debris your way. This attack can only be blocked by Finka and Doc, so choose your team carefully and be prepared to work together.

Along with intel on what horrors players might face during their time in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Ubisoft also released a new trailer featuring Ash briefing her fellow soldiers on the new threat.

Hopefully, players can keep them from nuking New Mexico entirely. Outbreak will run from March 6 – April 3.
