First Season Of League Of Legends New Seasonal Model Begins January 2025

Come January 2025 multiplayer online battle arena game League of Legends will feature a new seasonal model. The structure is split into three sixteen week seasons in 2025, each containing its own unique themes and champions, all set within the game’s world Runeterra.

The seasons within the game will feature themed updates, mini-games and unique skins will be made available along with new non-theme based skins. New cinematics will kick off players’ introduction to the new content beginning with the region of Noxus and their respective champions. Each season will offer two Battle themed passes to the unique content and will limit game-related content outside of the season. Free players can earn up to 12 skins per year, half being themed skins.

An update that will be available as of November 26 2024 includes changes to character Viktor to reflect his appearance in Arcane; he is set to arrive on the Public Beta Environment. His ultimate now grows larger with each kill until the end of his abilities’ duration and his alternate Prototype Viktor cost has increased from 520 to 720 RP.

The season one update will introduce Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin, who will appear twenty minutes into a match and attack the champion with the most damage at the fourteen minute mark. Blood roses will now sprout where players have been killed with Atakhan present. Atakhan can grant bloody petals to the team that can defeat him and spawn a grove of Blood Roses for collection. Other benefits for defeating Atakhan include increased effects from all Epic monster rewards and rebirth buffs in low action games.

Players can expect a hard reset on their rank starting January 1 2025, with the opportunity to earn up to three ‘Victorious Skins’ over the course of the year. A player function is in development to allow users to run matches in a closed setting and is in consideration for the release of season one; With luck players may see this in what may be a feature rich update.
