Today, Blizzard started the card reveals for the upcoming Hearthstone expansion, Rise of Shadows. The first look at the new set of cards was highlighted by new legendaries Blastmaster Boom, Heistbaron Togwaggle, and Khadgar. A total of twelve cards were revealed.
Blastmaster Boom and Heistbaron Togwaggle are legendary villains. Blastmaster Boom is a 7/7 that will cost 7 to play. Its battlecry is to summon two 1/1 boom bots for each bomb in your opponent’s deck. Heistbaron Togwaggle is a 5/5 that costs 6. The battlecry for this card reads if you control a Lackey, choose a fantastic treasure.
The last legendary revealed, Khadgar is a defender. He is a 2/2 that costs 2. His special effect is that cards that summon minions will summon twice as many.
The additional cards that were revealed are able to synergize with the playstyles of the three legendaries. Clockwork Goblin can shuffle a bomb into your opponent’s deck and it will cause 5 damage when the card is drawn as it will explode. The Wrenchcalibur will also shuffle a bomb into your opponent’s deck after your hero attacks. The EVIL Cable Rat has the ability to add a Lackey to your hand so it will combo very well with Heistbaron Togwaggle.
There were also several cards revealed that will combo very well with Khadgar and his ability to have cards that can summon minions summon twice as many.
For instance, Messenger Raven’s battlecry is to discover a Mage minion. Another card, Power of Creation lets the player discover a 6-cost minion and then summon two copies of it.
Paired with Khadgar, you’ll get to summon 4 6-cost minions which, depending on the minion can easily put you in a great position to win.
