First Night City Wire For Reveals A New Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer, New Gameplay, & New Story Details

After the cancellation of E3 2020, many were wondering when we would see a new look at Cyberpunk 2077. After E3 was canceled, CD Projekt Red announced Night City Wire, a special digital series where the developer would share more information about this year’s most anticipated game leading up to its launch. The first episode revealed a new trailer, new gameplay, new story details, and a special announcement.

The main focus of the trailer and gameplay was to showcase the prologue of the game. Players will start with the choice of three openings, each which will put you in a different place to start within the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Eventually, the story takes you to Night City where V and partner Jackie strive to make something of themselves. You get introduced to new factions and corporations that you can interact with if you choose to.

Another thing that CD Projekt Red revealed was a look at another district in the game, but unlike the rest of them, this district called Badlands is located outside of Night City so there will be opportunities to explore what the world is like in a more rural environment. The Badlands is also home to a group called Nomads who travel in convoys across the area. The developers also talked about a new gameplay feature called braindance. This feature allows users to experience memories from other people by allowing them to play out the memory as the other people. There will be some quests and opportunities to explore braindance and going into other people’s memories in search of clues to a mystery that players will have to solve.

The developers also mentioned briefly that anyone who gets the game on PlayStation 4 will get the game for PlayStation 5 for free like with Xbox and their Smart Delivery program. Both will get an upgraded version of the game for next-gen systems at a later date as well.

CD Projekt Red also announced a new anime series being developed by Studio Trigger that will release on Netflix in 2022. It is set in the same world as Cyberpunk 2077 but will have new characters and story separate from the game. CD Projekt Red said:” Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner-a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.”

CD Projekt Red that a new Night City Wire episode will premiere in a few weeks. Cyberpunk 2077 releases on November 19 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
