Treehouse Games have announced that Voyagers of Nera will come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in early 2027. The open-world survival crafting game is currently available in Early Access for PC via Steam. The announcement arrived alongside a new trailer for “Explore the Deep,” the game’s latest major update. Treehouse Games also confirmed that Fireshine Games has joined Voyagers of Nera as publisher. The studio said the game’s 1.0 release has been moved to early 2027 so it can launch alongside the console versions, with additional work planned for content, performance, and controller support.
Voyagers of Nera is set across Nera, an ocean world made up of islands, old ruins, spirits, and creatures from the Deep. Players take the role of Echoes, descendants of the world’s former protectors, as they travel across the sea, rebuild settlements, rescue spirits, and fight the monsters spreading through the world. The game supports solo play and online co-op with up to 10 players. Players can build boats, use skimmers to cross the water, dive for resources, craft equipment, and create island bases. Spirits are also tied to progression, giving players access to recipes, crafting support, vessel guidance, and new abilities after they are awakened.
The “Explore the Deep” update expands the game’s underwater areas with sunken ruins, new enemies, diving equipment, gathering changes, and additional story discoveries. Players can now find different types of ruins beneath the water, including small remains, village ruins, and larger sanctuary ruins. Some of the larger ruins include Precursor items, which are now used to upgrade the Spirit Anchor. Diving has also been changed with a new depth limit system. Players start with a limited diving range, but equipment such as the Diver’s Reed can increase how far they can go below the surface. Going past the limit causes pressure sickness, while Bubble Tonics, Bubble Plants, and other tools can help players stay underwater longer. The update also adds new underwater enemies, including the Deepling Thresher, Shockjelly, and Glimmerling. Underwater combat has been adjusted with shield use, blocking, parrying, staggering, and dodging. Other additions include discoverable recipes, locked doors tied to notes found in the world, restorable Spirit Shrines, and a new gear upgrade system using Vestiges.
Voyagers of Nera launched in Steam Early Access on September 16, 2025. The game is available now for PC via Steam in Early Access, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions planned for early 2027.
