Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition May Come To The Swith

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XV has had many additions since it’s initial release last year. The action packed RPG was first released exclusively to the Xbox One and Playstation 4 but since the release of the Nintendo Switch in March no such announcement has been made to bring the game on the new console. New versions for the game were recently announced including a PC version  as well as a mobile edition titled Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition for IOS and Android. While it looks like the original Final Fantasy XV might not come to the Nintendo Switch there is a chance that the newly announced Pocket Edition of the game would.

During an interview between IGN and game Director Hajime Tabata, Tabata had some statements regarding this issue saying that there is “certainly a chance that could happen and that the probability is “certainly not zero.” But he did clarify that the Pocket Edition”doesn’t actually have controller support,” He explained further, “Obviously we’d have to think about what the meaning and what the significance of bringing this to Switch would be,” he explained. “You know, whether people would want to play it and whether it would be the right thing to do for our team.”

This version of Final Fantasy XV is a mobile adaptation of the game in which everything seems to take a chibi art style. The combat has added “casual touch controls optimized for mobile devices.” The Pocket Edition will also split up Final Fantasy XV’s story over ten separate episodes. They will be available later this year all at the same time with the first episode being free to download to all.
