Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition Set to Release on January 23, 2020

Today, Square Enix released a new trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition. The new trailer showed off some gameplay as well as specifying the release date for the game. Back in June Square Enix released a trailer  that stated that the game would be released in the winter, however, the new trailer has placed the date for its release at January 2020.

The trailer also revealed several new features that will be added to the game. The first feature that will be added is Cross-Play. Gamers will now be able to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition together across multiple platforms. The game will also include several new dungeons and bosses for players to battle as well as online multiplayer. The multiplayer feature will allow up three of your friends to join you on your quest to destroy the source of the miasma plaguing the world.

This is quite a change from the initial method used in 2004, in which players had to hook up a Game Boy Advance to the GameCube with a link cord. Two other new features being added to the Remastered Edition are new character voiceovers, as well as new appearances and items for characters to flaunt. The last new feature being added to the Remastered Edition is updated visuals and audio. According to Polygon, a preview version of the game will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show floor during this week.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will be available for Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and PlayStation 4. According to the Final Fantasy site, gamers who want to play the game on a PlayStation 4 must have an active PlayStation Plus subscription in order to play online, and Nintendo Switch users will need a Nintendo Switch Online Membership. The game will be available on January 23rd, 2020.
