A Final Fantasy 7 Remake looks like it could be coming to PC according to an Epic Games leak. The “mistake” appears to have been made on the backend of the Epic Games store which accidentally listed the game as “on its way.” According to a screenshot that was posted to Twitter on June 18, the game’s name was said to be found in a deep file labeled with a codename, ‘pineapple.’ However, a slip up in the filing revealed that the real name of the game is Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

For a while, speculation surrounding the game’s possible expiration with its PlayStation exclusivity has been floating around the internet since April. So, a Final Fantasy 7 Remake wouldn’t be too surprising as gamers have been presuming that the game would be making its way to other platforms soon. With no official statement yet released from Epic Games, everything is just a mere theory for now.
Although, Epic Games and Remedy Connected Universe are lending a bit of credential to the leak. Kingdom Hearts’ entire series installments were just released, for the first time, to the Epic Games store exclusively. In addition, Remedy Connected Universe has teased for a while now that Alan Wake would soon be making a comeback.
Both Epic Games and Remedy Connected Universe are working closely with one another on two major projects. One is a AAA multi-platform game while the other is a same-scale game set in the same universe as the first. On top of that, Final Fantasy 7 Remake got a PS5 update in Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade. Now fans are looking to the PS5 enhancements such as the DLC expansion pack, improved loading times, and a new front-end menu, to try to get a feel for this possible PC version.
