Feel The Truth Behind The Static: Silent Hill: Townfall Official PS5 Features Trailer

With the release of Silent Hill: Townfall looming closer than ever, PlayStation decided to give players a small glimpse into what to expect from their console release. This highly anticipated game is meant to be as immersive as possible with the help of PlayStation 5 technology.

Players will not only experience the story, but feel it.

The auditory aspects of the Silent Hill franchise are some of the most well known in the psychological horror genre, and players will be able to hear it in 3D audio. This feature will be available with built-in TV speakers or analog/USB stereo headphones, “set up and latest system software update required.” Every note of haunting music and bump in the dark won’t go unnoticed with this feature, truly placing you in the nightmarish town.

With the help of the DualSense Controller, players will be able to feel the game. The controller can be used to tune into signals by using the Motion Sensor, meaning tilting the controller will cause main character Simon to tilt his CRTV in real time. This is sure to truly put players in his shoes, physically moving a controller is more immersive than moving joysticks or pressing buttons. Along with that, the controller will also react to actions occurring around Simon. A bang on a door will not only startle you from hearing it, but your controller with provide Haptic Feedback to ensure you feel it too.

Even attacking the monsters that haunt Simon will have their own experience; players will be able to attack them with Adaptive Triggers. Each blow delivered and shot of a gun will trigger the DualSense to respond with a jolt as Simon would feel, allowing players to feel as though they are doing the action themselves.

Silent Hill: Townhill will be available on PC and PS5 on September 24, 2026.

Laurie Rose Contreras: Hi everyone! I'm Laurie. I love video games of all kinds, but especially horror. Being immersed into a different world feels like a mini vacation for the mind, even if it is being chased by zombies or some sort of abstract monster.
