Fast Striker is Speeding its Way to PS4 and PS Vita

The 80’s are well and alive in the video game world. And that is thanks to a German based company known as NGDEV, who have been making 2D Scrolling Shoot’em Up Games inspired by classic arcade games like Space Invaders and Galaga, for the past 10 years. René Hellwig, the game designer of NGDEV, just announced that, working with eastasiasoft, they’re bringing their game Fast Striker to PS4 and PS Vita.

The video trailer for Fast Striker not only shows off the smooth pixelated graphics, but also the upbeat techno-inspired soundtrack. And if you listen closely, you can hear similar sounds to that of the classics whenever points are collected or a laser is shot. Hellwig describes the game as “retina burning” as the colours are vibrant and there are 3D scrolling backgrounds for each location in the game. This game looks absolutely stunning and it shows how much it pays homage to the classics.

Hellwig also announced that there will be exciting features coming with the game to PlayStation. There will be four different difficulties the player can choose between: Novice, Original, Maniac, and Omake (bonus, or extra when translated). There are 6 different stages that include over 40 different types of enemies to fight against, and huge boss battles at the end of each stage.

And much like classic shoot’em up type scrolling games, it relies heavily on a unique point system. This point system rewards you by playing longer, so the game can be easier when it comes down to the ending boss fights. Hellwig does challenge players to attempt to play the game through with only one credit or life to see how they hold up. Challenge accepted, Hellwig.

Because of the new platforms, Fast Striker will also have custom button configurations and adjustable screen support, so each player will be able to play at whatever they’re comfortable with in this “retina burning” game.

Fast Striker will be arriving to PS4 and PS Vita on October 16, 2018 and will be available for $6.99. Learn more about the game here.
