Far Cry 5 Live Action Short Film Drops First Trailer

The ramp up to Far Cry 5’s March release date is in full swing. We’ve had new info on all of the available companions, and plenty of news about the upcoming DLC. Their newest venture is a live action short film inspired by the game.

Today Ubisoft released the announcement trailer for Far Cry 5: Inside Eden’s Gate. The film promises to reveal more about “the Project at Eden’s Gate and its ruthless leader, Joseph Seed.”

The initial trailer is just a short teaser, but it reveals the basic premise. The movie will follow the story of three different “vloggers”. They have all come to learn more about Hope County, the cult, and Eden’s Gate. They are looking to chase down leads about missing town folk and strange customs. Unfortunately, it seems like they are quickly found out and in over their head with the cultists they encounter.

For a 30 second trailer, it looks pretty spectacular. Ubisoft was helped out by Legendary Entertainment’s Asylum Division to create the film. The villainous Joseph Seed will be played by Greg Bryk (A History of Violence) in both the film and the game. Kyle Gallner of American Sniper fame will also appear.

Far Cry 5: Inside Eden’s Gate comes out March 5 and will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
