Xbox Live user xXHugabearXx has brought together two fandoms that deserved a happy marriage in the form of a Quidditch map for Halo 5: Guardians.
As seen in the video above (the actual gameplay begins at 0:55), the map is basically an intense version of Grifball that utilizes Gravity Hammers instead of brooms. The goal is to score through one of the hoops – simple enough, except that everyone is also equipped with Energy Swords. Teams must reach 15 points to win, with 3 points earned for simply throwing through the hoops, and 1 point given for ground-pounding to score.
There’s obviously a substantial amount of differences between this variant of Grifball and real Quidditch – there’s only one ball in play, for instance, and players aren’t constantly in the air, nor is there a game-ending Snitch of any kind. However, all snobbery aside, it’s still an impressive creative undertaking, and a fun community variant that shows just what can be done with Forge tools.
Grifball was brought to Halo 5 last month, and Forge has been available since last December.
