Expect Big Nintendo Switch Game From EA

At the UBS Global Technology Conference in San Francisco, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgenson teased that they are working on plans for the upcoming Nintendo Switch system. He said that EA is working on “a game or two” for the Nintendo Switch system. He said that it wouldn’t be a Nintendo Switch exclusive but instead a port for one of EA’s “bigger” games.

Jorgenson did say that he still had questions about the appeal it will have when a lot of players already have their own portable handheld system.

It’s an interesting device. But I can’t yet predict how broad it’s going to be. Will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have today?

EA previously supported the Wii U with four games: Mass Effect 3, Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Madden NFL 13 and FIFA 13. Not even a year passed when EA said that they had no other plans to release games of the Wii U, even though EA released over 65 games for the original Wii.

EA is one of many publishers that supported the Nintendo Switch. Other famous developers that have said that they will release games for the Nintendo Switch are Activision, Bethesda, Capcom, Take-Two, Ubisoft, Square Enix and Warner Bros. The complete list of publishers partnering with Nintendo can be seen here.

The Nintendo Switch is set be released in March 2017. It was previously released that Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild won’t be the launch title, but a Mario game could be. The Nintendo Switch’s price, specs and launch title will be revealed during a video presentation in January 2017.

The Nintendo Switch is hybrid between home console and a handheld console. Players will be able to detach the analog stick and button parts of the Switch controller and attach them to a tablet-like device. The games will be cartridges, not discs.

Bryan Ingram: My name is Bryan. I just graduated from High Point University with a degree in Journalism. I'm 25 and writing has always been a part of my life. I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
