What’s that? A new fighting game character released for a game that came out in 2015? Well, stranger things have happened, in fact at EVO stranger things DID happen, but that doesn’t make this reveal any less stunning. A new character, Trinity Glassfile, has been revealed for BlazBlue: Centralfiction.
Now, this trailer is a very short celebration of BlazBlue as a series. As stated, this particular version of BlazBlue released in 2015, over a decade ago, and while Arc System Works have since moved on to other projects, namely their big return to their seminal fighting game series Guilty Gear in the form of Guilty Gear: Strive, the community has kept BlazBlue alive through thick and thin and let me tell you, some of those times were very thin.
Arc System Works have decided to reward their ever loyal BlazBlue fanbase with an update to Centralfiction, as well as a new character that the playerbase has been expecting for a while in the form of Trinity Glassfile, an NPC character that’s been seen and talked about but until now has been unplayable.
This news of a BlazBlue update has actually been quite huge for the BlazBlue community. While the game has been kept afloat by its ever loyal fanbase, this past weekend saw an absolute explosion for the player count, at least from what we can see on Steamcharts. That’s right! A Steamcharts screenshot used for something positive for a change!

Those are big numbers for an ancient fighting game. Trinity Glassfile as well as the Centralfiction update have rejuvinated the game, and none too soon either, as BlazBlue: Centralfiction is currently on sale for only 8 dollars on Steam for the Summer sale. If you’ve ever had a passing interest in the BlazBlue series the best time to join was in the arcades in 2015, but the second best time is right now. It really is a cool thing for a game to get a bit of love after ten years.
