Evil Dead: The Game Postponed Again, Plans to Release May 13, 2022

Unfortunately, Evil Dead fans will have to wait three more months to play the long-awaited Evil Dead: The Game, as the game’s release date was postponed once again. Saber Interactive, the developers of Evil Dead: The Game, announced on Twitter today that the game will no longer release next month as initially planned. Evil Dead: The Game will now release on May 13, 2022, which happens to land on Friday, the 13th.

The developers further explained the reason behind the delay in another tweet, stating that the delay “gives our team the time they need to get things just right.” They also thanked fans for their patience and understanding. The developers wrapped up their announcements by revealing that a brand-new trailer will be released next month and staying tuned for pre-order information.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the developers have decided to push back the game’s release date. Evil Dead: The Game was first announced at the Game Awards 2020 with trailer back in December, where it was revealed that the game was planning to release sometime in 2021. However, Saber Interactive announced in August 2021 that the game would be postponed to February 2022, explaining in tweet that the delay would give the team more time to add a single-player option to the game.

However, it hasn’t been all bad news. In December 2021, Saber Interactive revealed on Twitter that the original cast of The Evil Dead film would be reprising their roles in Evil Dead: The Game. Bruce Campbell will voice Ash Williams, Ellen Sandweiss will voice Cheryl Williams, and Hal Delrich will voice Scotty. Ash, Cheryl, and Scotty are confirmed to be playable survivors. Betsy Baker and Theresa Tilly will also have special appearances in the game to reprise their respective characters, Linda and Shelly.

Dana DeLorenzo and Ray Santiago from the tv show Ash vs Evil Dead will also reprise their roles as Kelly Maxwell and Pablo Simon Bolivar in Evil Dead: The Game.

Evil Dead: The Game is part of the Evil Dead franchise, which began with the 1981 cult classic, The Evil Dead. The game will feature a player versus player co-op combat system, where a team of four players will play as survivors to go against one player who will play as the killer. Evil Dead: The Game is planned to release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Kiara Gonzalez: Kiara loves cats, reading, and playing video games.
