Stardew Valley is an immensely popular farming sim created by Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone in 2016. The game has sold over 20 million copies since its release, generating revenue upwards of $300 million. Although Stardew Valley was originally developed for Microsoft Windows, it later expanded to other platforms, including macOS, Linux, consoles, and mobile devices. The game remains popular to this day, warranting continuous updates and additional content from Barone and his team.
Stardew Valley had one of its most expansive updates this past year, with the 1.6 update adding a seemingly endless list of subtle additions and improvements. The update introduced new events, such as the Desert Festival, new dialogue, additional pets, visual enhancements, performance improvements, and many more features to the game. These changes have prompted even veteran players to pick up the game again, although those playing on Console and Mobile devices only recently gained access to the 1.6 update on November 4.
Smaller updates have released continuously since the 1.6 update hit mobile versions of Stardew Valley, making additional changes. Unfortunately, one minor update put into effect on November 15 has caused the game to crash continuously for certain mobile gamers. ‘ConcernedApe’ addressed the issue in a post on X (formerly Twitter), in which he informed readers that the mobile version of Stardew Valley was experiencing technical issues. He stated that the game’s development team would be “releasing an emergency patch to fix it as soon as possible.” No exact time or date was provided for the fix, but the post definitely expresses a comforting sense of urgency to mobile gamers who miss their cozy farms.
last night’s mobile update is causing crashes. We will be releasing an emergency patch to fix it as soon as possible.

The issue will almost certainly end up fixed, regardless of how long it takes. Eric Barone made it clear that he intends to work on Stardew Valley for the rest of his life, expressing his whole-hearted dedication to the beloved farming simulator. Barone has also mentioned his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier, which he continues to work on in the meantime. The game’s content has remained largely mysterious aside from a few brief updates on its website, the latest of which was posted on December 25, 2021. A release date for Haunted Chocolatier has not been announced as of yet.
For any mobile gamers interested in in trying out Stardew Valley for themselves, the game is available for $4.99 on both the Google Play Store and App Store.
