Boy that’s a background worthy shot up there isn’t it? From Software fans rejoice, here’s the launch trailer for Elden Ring Nightreign:

Opening with an oddly inspiring orchestral musical track as the players rise from defeat, most of the trailer is cinematic, showing a full party of players cycling through the various playable Nightfarers, such as the Duchess character, though that’s not very representative of the playerbase as everyone knows Souls players hate Dex builds.

There are some snippets of gameplay in there however, mainly in the form of the various boss fights that the game will have to offer such as a giant centaur type creature, a giant scorpion backed up by a boss that looks like the Moonlight Butterfly of yore (this one is a moth however), a cerberus, a unique dragon that hearkens back to the old Gaping Dragon design but this time with functional wings and a lightning storm above it, and a four winged dragon that’s reminiscent of old Seath the Scaleless.

There are also a few goodies for the player characters here, summoning giant skeletons and birds or turning into Bloodborne-esque beasts also feature here. Not to mention an arm crossbow on the Wylder Nightfarer with a charge attack similar to the Stake Driver’s massive charged R2, also from Bloodborne.

Souls games have always featured multiplayer, and while it’s always been a feature many have had strong feelings for one way or the other, never before has it been a core aspect of a Souls game, but in 3 days time on May 30^th, 2025 Elden Ring Nightreign will release. So if a multiplayer co-op Souls experience sounds like something you’d enjoy look out for its release this Friday on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.
