In case you haven’t heard, last week one of the big announcements at Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards, possibly THE biggest announcement depending on what kind of games get you going, is a pseudo sequel to the hit 2022 Game of the Year Elden Ring in the form of Elden Ring: Nightreign by From Software. Interested in what kind of game it is? Well you might be in luck, as the network test for the game is going to be starting in February, with registration opening up on the 10th of January next year for Playstation 5 and XBOX series X|S users.
Steel your resolve, Nightfarers.
Registration for the #ELDENRING #NIGHTREIGN Network Test will open on January 10, 2025.

It’s probably good for everyone involved that Elden Ring: Nightreign has a bit of a “demo” open to the public so soon. Nightreign definitely left a lot of fans confused; scratching their heads at what to make of this. The preview trailer suggested that this was a full game version of the ever popular seamless co-op mod for Elden Ring, and while that seems to be true in some regards it also seems to take elements from roguelikes as well as battle royales, but it won’t have an PvP. In all honesty is a big jumble of ideas and, as Fromsoft has never really covered a game like this before, this will be a learning experience for players and From themselves.
The majority of Souls players seem to be on PC, so it’s a shame that they won’t be able to take part in the network test to see how the water feels for them, but still the small preview and snippets of news from the Playstation and XBOX users should be enough for them to make an informed decision. If you own one of these consoles and want to participate in the network test, simply follow the link in the tweet above or go to nightreign.com/nt for more information.
