Ed Boon and Todd McFarlane Tease Spawn For Mortal Kombat 11

We’re finally down to the last character in the Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat 11, and it’s none other than the famous, or infamous, Spawn. The comic book anti-hero will make his presence felt in the Kombat Universe when he’s released in March. However, since we’re so close, Ed Boon from NetherRealm Studios decided to tease everyone with this simple, yet very effective tweet.

Todd McFarlane, the creator of the Spawn character, also chimed in with his own tweet. To coincide with the fighters release in the game, McFarlane also unveiled a Spawn action figure, complete with multiple points of articulation, and with an incredible amount of detail. As if this wasn’t enough, this will also be what Spawn’s default costume will be in the game. In a way, this is a small preview of Spawns preview.

We’ll be getting an official in-game preview of Spawn sometime before his March release, and possibly more hints and teases leading up to it. What we do know so far is that the character will be voiced by long time voice actor Keith David, who has lent his spine tingling voice to the 1990’s animated Spawn series. He’s also a video game voice acting veteran, most famously Mass Effect and Halo. As we said earlier, Spawn will be the final character to be released as part of the Kombat Pack, which was formally introduced last year. Since then, Mortal Kombat 11 has received Terminator, Sindel, and just last month, The Joker.

With the end of the Kombat Pack, it’s more than likely a matter of time before the studio announces a potential second Pack with new fighters to be hyped over. Until the, we’ll have Spawn to tide us over, who will be released on March 17 for those who purchased the Kombat Pack. He will be available for everyone else sometime afterward.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
