Today, EA revealed some more information about what’s next with some of its upcoming titles. We got news regarding what’s next for developer Codemasters, a short tease for the next season of Apex Legends, an update regarding the next EA Original Lost in Random, A look at Season 2 of Knockout City, the new game mode coming in Battlefield 2042, and the official reveal of the Dead Space Remake that was leaked before EA Play Live 2021. Here’s a rundown of everything that was revealed during the event.
Codemasters’ new game, Grid Legends, is a new racing title that features a ton of cars such as big rigs, stadium trucks, drift cars, open-wheelers, muscle cars, electric cars, and hypercars. It will feature a live-action story starring Ncuti Gatwa from Sex Education that was filmed using the same technology for The Mandalorian. The game will be released sometime in 2022.
The next update for Apex Legends has been revealed. Emergence brings in the new legend Seer, a character similar to Bloodhound with the ability to track enemies. The trailer showcased a first look at a map update for World’s Edge and shared the first look at Seer in action, showcasing the abilities of the new Legend.
Apex Legends: Emergence will be released on August 3, 2021. Seer’s gameplay reveal will be released next week on July 26.
Lost in Random is the next EA Originals that follows a girl’s quest to save her sister from an evil queen in a world where people’s futures are determined by the roll of a dice.
EA shared a new trailer for the game at EA Play Live 2021. The trailer showcased the combat which mixes real-time action and turn-based tactics. The game launches on September 10, 2021, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Knockout City’s Season 2 is themed around movies. The new season will bring in new maps, new gear, and a new soda ball. Knockout City Fight at the Movies releases next week on July 27.
DICE teased a new game mode coming to Battlefield 2042 when they initially revealed the game earlier this year. At EA Play Live 2021, Battlefield Portal was revealed.
Battlefield Portal is a community-driven platform that lets players create and find fantastic experiences made by the community. The creation suite includes Settings, custom modes, and a Logic Editor. You’ll be able to change team ratios, tweak victory conditions, restrict weapons, and put different factions from different eras in Battlefield’s history against one another. Players can pick content from Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3.
A teaser for the Dead Space remake was the final trailer presented at EA Play Live. The game is being developed by Motive and will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
