EA Motive Developing A Unique Star Wars Experience

Yesterday, EA Motive’s Patrick Klaus was interviewed by Gamesindustry.biz about what direction the company has been taking ever since Jade Raymond left back in 2018. Patrick Klaus has stated that the company’s identity is still being figured out and that the company is “doing a lot of work internally in order to identify our DNA, who we are and what we do.” One of the projects that EA Motive has been working on involves Star Wars. Little is known about the project at the moment but Patrick Klaus has stated that the company is developing a Star Wars game.

According to Gamespot, the game was initially being worked on by Visceral Games until it was canceled back in 2017 alongside the closure of Visceral Games. Amy Hennig was going to continue the project until she left EA Studios back in 2018. Before she left, she stated in an interview with Gameinformer “When we announced we were moving the game, the idea was pivoting more into player agency but still keeping lot of the stuff that was great about it.” Amy Hennig noted that the company had about three terabytes of Star Wars artwork available from Visceral’s closure. Jade Raymond was also working with Visceral Games until she left EA Motive back in 2018. While she is no longer at EA Motive, John Reseburg, EA’s head of communication stated that games that are currently being worked on at Motive would continue to be worked on. Patrick Klaus confirmed that the untitled Star Wars game is still being developed promising “a very unique Star Wars Experience.”

The newest Star Wars game released by Respawn Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has become quite popular with the game achieving the fastest-selling digital launch in the history of the franchise. No new information is available regarding EA Motive’s new Star Wars game but it is likely that more information will be revealed at a later date.
