EA Access Subscription Service Coming to Steam

The video game subscription service EA Access will be arriving to the Steam platform in the future, according to a preview-image of the service that can be found on Steam store pages for various EA titles. The service, already available on the Xbox One and PS4 consoles, gives subscribers the ability to play 10-hour trials of new EA games, 10% discount on EA store purchases and access to a library of various EA titles. While EA titles are already available for PC players via the EA-Origin game launcher, the service will still allow for Steam and Origin players to play with one another. Information about the new partnership between Valve and EA can be found on the EA website’s announcement post.

The service is already available on PC via EA’s Origin launcher, but the partnership between Valve and EA will bring a number of popular titles to the Steam store. The partnership will begin on November 15th when Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order™ releases on the Steam store, with pre-orders for the game available now. The post also announced that a number of other titles would be coming to Steam,  “in the coming months, players on Steam will also be able to play other major titles like The Sims™ 4 and Unravel™ Two. Multiplayer games—like Apex Legends™, FIFA 20, and Battlefield™ V—will become available next year, and players on both Origin and Steam will have the ability to play together.”

Many EA titles are already available in the Steam store, including Crysis 3, Dragon Age Inquisition and Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst. Most of these games are also on sale for 50% off or more until July 9th via Steam. More information about the service will be announced in the future via EA’s website and the EA Access Twitter account.
