Following Microsoft’s acquisition of Zenimax, the parent company of Bethesda, many were wondering how things would be moving forward with events like E3. We got an answer when Microsoft announced the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. Now, we can look forward to see what’s coming next from both companies. Here’s everything that was revealed during today’s event.
Ever since its initial reveal, many have been wondering when we can look forward to the next, new Bethesda Games Studio title, Starfield. Today, we got the first look at in-game footage. After the acquisition of Bethesda, many were also speculating whether or not all of their titles going forward would be console exclusive to Xbox. We learned that Starfield will be an Xbox exclusive and it is launching on November 11, 2022.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Chernobyl was announced last year. New gameplay footage was shown as well as a look at what the story of the game will be. S.T.A.L..K.E.R. 2 is launching on April 28, 2022. A new cinematic trailer was released for Back 4 Blood, the spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. Contraband is a new open-world open-world.
Sea of Thieves is getting a free, new epic original story coming later this month on June 22. Developer Rare and Disney have teamed up and the new story called A Pirate’s Life will feature several characters from Pirates of the Caribbean including Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones. Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon is available for Xbox Game Pass owners today, joining the rest of the franchise’s other titles. The first look at Battlefield 2042 gameplay was revealed. 12 Minutes had a new trailer revealing a release date of August 19, 2021. Psychonauts 2 will be releasing on August 25.
Microsoft and Bethesda are bringing 10 more titles to Xbox Game Pass which now brings the total number of Bethesda games on the service to 30. New Fallout 76 content was detailed including the first look at the next DLC all about the Brotherhood of Steel faction coming on July 7 as well as a sneak peek at a new Expedition called The Pitt which will be launching in 2022.
Party Animals 2 is a new multiplayer brawler coming in 2022. Hades is coming to Xbox on August 13. A trailer was revealed for Somervile. The game is coming in 2022.
Halo Infinite multiplayer was finally revealed. 343 Industries announced that the multiplayer for the game will be free-to-play. They also showed a new look at the campaign, revealing new details about the story. Halo Infinite will be releasing Holiday 2021.
Diablo II: Resurrected will be releasing on September 23, 2021. A Plague Tale: Requiem, a sequel to A Plague Tale was announced, coming next year. New gameplay footage for Far Cry 6 was revealed. The trailer focused on the different ways players will be able to play the game. Slime Rancher 2 was announced. Shredders is a new snowboarding game coming later this year in December. New footage of Atomic Heart was showcased. Replaced is a new sidescroller coming next year.
The first look at the next update for Grounded was showcased. The Shroom & Doom update will be coming to the game at the end of the month on June 30. New footage of all the new content coming to Among Us was shown. The update will be coming to all platforms on June 15. Eiyuden Chronicle Rising is launching in 2022. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will launch in 2023. The Ascent will be launching on July 29. Age of Empires IV is launching later this year on October 28.
The Outer Worlds 2 was announced. Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to Xbox Series X|S on July 27. A free expansion featuring Top Gun: Maverick is coming in Fall 2021. Forza Horizon 5 is coming later this year on November 9. The game takes place in Mexico and will have new game features, game modes, and services.
Lastly, a new Xbox exclusive from Arkane called Redfall was announced. It will be released next Summer.
