Nintendo announced their plans for E3 2021 after it was revealed that it would be a part of the all-virtual event. Like with every Nintendo Direct, there has been speculation and rumors about what to expect. Plus, with the announcement of Nintendo Treehouse, further hype and anticipation has been building. Here is everything that was announced during today’s Direct.
Kazuya Misima from the Tekken series has been announced as the new fighter joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He will be able to perform moves such as Tsunami Kick, Searing Edge, Flash Punch Combo, Steel Pedal Drop, Flash Tornado, Nejiri Uraken, Crouch Spin Kick, Twin Pistons, Sternum Smash, Jumping Sobat, Spinning Demon to Left Hook, Dragon Uppercut, Tombstone Crusher, Gates of Hell, Wind God Fist, Crouch Jab, Roundhouse to Triple Spin Kicks, Rising Toe Kick, Stature Smash, Crouch Dash, Left Split Kicks, Stonehead, Demon God Fist, Oni Front Kick, Double Face Kick, Demon Scissors, Jump Side Kick, Demon’s Wrath, Leaping Sidekick, Jumping Knuckle, Air Inferno, and 10 Hit Combo. A new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate presentation focused on the new fighter will take place near the end of the month on June 28.
Life is Strange Remastered Collection and Life is Strange: True Colors will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. True Colors will be available on the platform when it launches on September 10. Life is Strange: Remastered Collection will be available on Nintendo Switch later this year.
A new trailer was released for Guardian’s of the Galaxy. Worms Rumble is coming to Nintendo Switch. The patchwork bear outfit will be available for free for two weeks after the launch of the game. A new map is also coming when the game launches on June 23. You can get a 23% discount if you pre-order the game today on the Nintendo Eshop. Astria Ascending is a new turn-based combat RPG coming to Nintendo Switch. Featuring a fully hand-painted world, players will customize a team of demi-gods. The game launches on Nintendo Switch on September 30. A new trailer for Two Point Campus was shared. It’s coming to the Switch next year.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania was announced. It features remastered editions of the first three games, Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2, and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. The game will be available on October 5, 2021.
Mario Party Superstars has been announced. 5 classic boards will be available to play on including Peach’s Birthday Cake and Space Land. The game will include 100 minigames from across the series. Online Play is also supported and matchmaking will be available. You can even save progress mid-game. Mario Party Superstars is available on October 29, 2021.
Nintendo provided an update regarding the latest Metroid game, saying it’s still currently in development. Metroid Dread has been revealed. It’s coming on October 8, 2021. This is the first new 2d Metroid game in 19 years. New Samus and E.M.M.I. Amiibo figures will be available when the game launches.
Just Dance 2022 is coming to Nintendo Switch. Cruis’n Blast is coming to Nintendo Switch later this fall. Dragonball Z: Kakarot has been announced for Nintendo Switch. The New Power Awakens Set is also coming with the game on September 24. A new trailer highlighting the different game modes in Mario Golf: Super Rush was released. New updates will be coming to the game shortly after launch. More gameplay was revealed for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. It’s coming to the Switch on July 9.
WarioWare: Get it Together has been announced. New microgames will be coming for Wario and his friends. The game will also feature a two-player co-op mode. WarioWare: Get it Together will be available on September 10.
A new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V was released. The trailer provides a glimpse into the story as well as how combat works in the game. There was also a focus on how players can make enemies allies by talking to them. The game launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on November 12.
Danganronpa Decadence is a collection of four games in the Dangaropa series. The board game from Dangonronpa V3: Killing Harmony has been expanded to a standalone title. The collection will be available later this year. All four games can be purchased separately as well on the Nintendo Eshop.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water has been announced. The horror-adventure game has players uncovering the mysteries of Mt. Hikami. Players will use a camera to repel and cast out ghosts. The game will feature various protagonists. It will be coming to Switch later this year.
The first campaign expansion for Doom Eternal, The Ancient Gods – Part 1, is coming to Nintendo Switch later today. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 will be available for the Nintendo Switch on June 25. Strange Brigade launches on Nintendo Switch later today.
Mario+Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022. A new trailer featuring a new look at gameplay and some of the new features such as the ability for characters to move freely around the battlefield was released during the Direct.
Advance Wars 1+2 Boot Camp is coming to Nintendo Switch. A remake of Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. Both campaigns will be available to play. The collection will be released on December 3, 2021.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is getting new content with an expansion pass. Wave 1 – Pulse of the Ancients will be available later this week on Friday, June 18. It will have a newly added playable character, added weapon types, a new difficulty level, new challenges, and new challenging enemies. Wave 2 – Guardian of Remembrance is coming in November 2021. It will feature new character vignettes, new stages, expanded roster, and new battle skills for existing characters.
The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword is coming to Nintendo Switch on July 16. Players can play the game using the joy-cons or in handheld mode.
Celebrating the 35th anniversary, a new Game & Watch system featuring The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventures of Link, and the GameBoy version of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. A special version of Vermin featuring Link will also be available. A playable clock based on The Legend of Zelda is part of the Game & Watch as well as an interactive timer based on Zelda II: The Adventures of Link.
A new trailer for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been released. The footage showed multiple islands that look like you can explore as well as new Shika Slate abilities. The game is set to release sometime in 2022.
