E3 2021: Age of Empires IV shown off at Microsoft/Bethesda Conference

RTS fans rejoice because Age of Empires IV is on the way and will be available to players on October 28th of this year. Age of Empires is a classic Microsoft series dating all the way back to the late ’90s and was one of the very first historically based RTS games on the market. However, after Age of Empires III in 2005, the series has gone dormant – until now. Age of Empires IV‘s new trailer shows off the core gameplay of starting a civilization, developing it over the years, and using the might of your nation to go to war with other factions.

Archers, camel-back riders, spearmen, catapults, and even elephants will be included as weapons of war to tear down enemy walls and claim victory. The trailer also shows off the powerfully satisfying destruction physics, which ensures that whether players are building or destroying, they’ll be having a blast.

The Age of Empires IP has been locked in the Microsoft vault for over 15 years, but it’s finally time for fans to dive back into a brand new entry in the series that’s been enhanced to the level we expect from AAA publishers in 2021. The game will also be available on PC through the Xbox Game Pass and both versions will be releasing simultaneously. You can check out the new age of empires trailer here.
