Developer ONEUNIVERSE have announced that their free-to-play player-versus-enviroment-versus-player dungeon crawling title Dungeon Stalkers will launch for PC in Steam’s Early Access program August 13. A PlayStation 5 Version has also been added to development.

Gematsu shares that Dungeon Stalkers was previously developed with Studio HG and the “entire development studio” moved to ONEUNIVERSE, however that the title is still being developed by the exact same team.

Dungeon Stalkers is set in a dark fantasy world, set within perilous dungeons that are the creations of a cursed and malevolent witch. Players will assume the role of a “Stalker,” an adventurer who delves intocursed dungeons. Some Stalkers available for players include Hilda, Urud, Nave, Baran, Rio, Clad, Rene, Shinobu, and Liyan. The ultimate goal of a Stalker within the game is to descend into the Witch’s cursed dungeon, gather loot, fight off corrupted monsters and rival Stalkers, and ultimately escape alive.

Dungeon Stalkers features the Dynamic Witch’s Curse System which constantly alters dungeon conditions with buffs, debuffs, or additional challenges. Character damage is represented with degraded armor and can be seen by enemy players. Multiple game modes are included, with the casual player-versus-enviroment experience and hardcore competitive player-versus-enviroment-versus-player dungeon run mode, both of which can be done with teammates or solo.

Based on how well Dungeon Stalkers has done, it seems ONEUNIVERSE wants to make this a standout PvEvP dungeon crawler. The game was one of the most played demos at Steam Next Fest in February 2024, and it’s now in the top 150 on Steam’s wishlist charts after its last test. This strong showing tells us the developers are confident players will like their game and are aiming to build on this success as they get ready to release it. With the title’s release drawing near, soon fans and newcomers will be able to give this one a go.
