DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing Announced, Launches This Year

A brand new IP has been announced, one that collects many well-known characters in the industry, animated movie characters that is. DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing has officially been unveiled, and it’s just as it sounds, collecting twenty of the studio’s animated characters and throwing them onto a race track. These include Shrek, Po, Tigress, Boss Baby, Puss in Boots, Hiccup, Astrid, and much more. Every character has their own distinct kart to boot, along with special customization options.

The title will be published by Gamemill Entertainment and developed by Bamtang Games, both of whom worked largely on thee Nickelodeon Kart Racers franchise. The game will also contain tracks that are unique to locations from different DreamWorks titles, including Kingdom of Far Far Away, Bergen Town, the Spirit Realm, Baby Corp, and New York City Zoo. One of the main features during the races are the Trolls, who not only host them but also help out players with powerups and special surprises. Players will also be able to utilize magical switches on the tracks for hidden shortcuts, which can be stacked by finding more switches.

While this is an exciting collection of characters, the biggest inclusion has to be Shrek, who hasn’t been on a major video game title in well over a decade. His last two appearances were both in 2011, the Puss in Boots title, and the other DreamWorks racing game DreamWorks Super Star Kartz which was published by Activision. DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing will launch sometime this year for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will have a standard edition that will cost $39.99 and a digital deluxe edition that will cost $49.99 and will include two exclusive characters; Master Oogway from Kung Fu Panda and Wolf from Puss in Boots.
