Capcom’s 2024 release, Hideaki Itsuno’s own Dragon’s Dogma 2, is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year. With a release date set for this month, March 22nd, it’s only natural that more and more details about the ever expansive action rpg start to get drip fed to the public in anticipation, to build hype for the upcoming release in 3 weeks. Today, Capcom has revealed to us more details behind their pawn system and how it’s going to work in the full release.
Most notable among the highlights is the new character creation and storage tool, which can be downloaded right now before the release. With this, you can create your own Arisen and accompanying pawn in anticipation of the full release, these creations can be taken into the full game for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. This is a welcome demo since we all know we’re all going to spend at least 3 weeks trying to get the perfect main character and pawn, so it was nice of Capcom to give us the option to mess around with the character creator and give us a month to do it. If you’d like to download this creation and storage tool right now you can do it by following this link to the official Dragon’s Dogma 2 website where the options are lined up for you. You can create up to 5 Arisens and pawns for your upcoming playthroughs.
Also, it seems as though Capcom are taking a very creator friendly approach with the public pawns, as they are partnering with various content creators and making their pawns available to the playerbase, as Hideaki Itsuno and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi explained:
…the duo unveiled plans to release official Capcom support Pawns created by renowned content creators that will be available for other players through the network to join their own adventure, with initial announcements during Capcom Highlights and other participating creators to be revealed in the near future.
We know a few of the content creators Capcom has contacted for this collaboration, including famous long running Capcom faithful Maximilian_Dood.
Be sure to try out the character creation and storage tool in the link above to get your Arisen ready for the full release of Dragon’s Dogma 2 come March 22nd this month on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
