Publisher Square Enix and Developer Artdink have released the launch trailer for Dragon Quest III HD-2D today as well as two additional trailers. According to Gematsu Dragon Quest III HD-2D is set to release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 14.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D is a remake of the Nintendo Entertainment System turn-based role playing adventure Dragon Quest III. Players will assume the role of the hero Erdrick. You will get to play as a variable assortment of classes including the hero, mage, priest, thief, gadabout, martial artist, warrior, merchant, sage, and monster wrangler. The trailer begins with a distant voice, explaining they have awaited this day. A gigantic egg begins to hatch in front of the group of warriors and a blinding light enshrouds them. A mythical bird ascends above them. We see an older warrior challenging various monsters and defeating them. Erdrick and his crew travel through the city, forest and by boat. They cross a bridge and a small island is consumed by a torrent. The mood can be described as somber. Erdrick navigates a dark dungeon, solves a puzzle, and challenges a demon looking beast. The camera pans on a snowy temple. A voice scolds Erdrick telling him that if he stands against Barabas he will forfeit his life. The text Only you can stop the Archfiend is seen on the screen. The iconic Dragon Quest theme begins to play, Erdrick and the party travels over bridges and into the kingdom. Erdrick challenges various fiends, including mages, ghosts, a troll, and a a winged demon. A voice can be heard communicating with Erdrick, that the light will return. The trailer ends.
