Dragon Quest 1, 2, and 3 Nintendo Switch Ports Coming to the United States

The Nintendo Switch port Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of An Elusive Age Definitive Edition is coming to North America in late September, and with it, several other games are going to be released as well. The official Twitter account for Dragon Quest released some new info yesterday about Dragon Quest , Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, and Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation.

The Tweet states that Dragon Quest I, Dragon Quest II, and Dragon Quest III will also be released on September 27th, alongside Dragon Quest XI, which pays homage to its humble beginnings with a number of features including an optional 16-bit graphic mode as well as the option to alter between a midi and orchestrated sound track. Fans of the Dragon Quest series can also play a demo for the Nintendo Switch port of Dragon Quest XI and transfer their save data to the full game once they purchase it upon release.

Dragon Quest I, II, and III are known as the Erdrick trilogy and follow the exploits of the heroes of each game as they venture forth to slay evil. It is unlikely that these Nintendo Switch ports will be direct ports of the original NES games because the screenshots and text style suggest that the games will be similar to the iOS and Android ports of the games. The games will come in at an affordable price as well as Dragon Quest will cost $4.99, Dragon Quest II will cost $6.49, and Dragon Quest III will cost players $12.49.
