Dragon Ball FighterZ Closed Beta Begins Today

A select few fans will have the chance to play Dragon Ball FighterZ the all new upcoming 2D style fighting game that was first revealed at E3 2017. The game quickly drew a lot of attention from long time fans of the famous anime Dragon Ball Z. A closed beta for the title kicks off today, September 16, and will only be available for a limited time for Playstation 4 and Xbox One players.

The Playstation 4 players who were selected to take place in the beta after the registration period that occurred last month will receive a download code in their emails. However, the Xbox One players who were selected will receive a notification of their selection via the Xbox Insider Hub’s Announcement feed. This beta is different from traditional ones due to the fact that it will only run through predetermined three hour blocks. Here is a current schedule of the times as follows:

Saturday, September 16

  • 2 AM PT – 5 AM PT
  • 10 AM PT – 1 PM PT
  • 6 PM PT – 9 PM PT

Sunday, September 17

  • 1 PM PT – 4 PM PT

Bandai Namco has announced a total of 13 characters for the game up to this point, but hasn’t went on to announce which of these characters will be available for use in the beta. Dragon Ball FighterZ will release for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC by way of Steam in early 2018. Those who preorder the game will unlock Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta early as a bonus. The title doesn’t have a solid release date within the United States, but is slated to arrive in Europe in February.
