Doom Launches for the Nintendo Switch, Gets a New Trailer

As of today (November 10th), a new version of DOOM has launched for the Nintendo Switch. Originally announced back in October, this reboot of the DOOM franchise was published by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, which also unveiled a launch trailer that you can watch below.

Bethesda’s announcement offered the following overview of the game: “As the lone DOOM Marine, your mission will take you through the depths of Hell and beyond, defeating hordes of demons using powerful weapons – or even your fists. With DOOM for Nintendo Switch, you can rip and tear your way through the madness, whether you’re home or on-the-go. From the relentless single-player campaign to battling against opponents in multiplayer, to racking up points in the game’s fast-paced Arcade Mode, there’s never been a better time to enjoy the fun of DOOM.”

DOOM on the Switch will also feature a multiplayer mode, which Nintendo briefly summarized. “Dominate your opponents in DOOM‘s signature, fast-paced arena-style combat. In both classic and all-new game modes, take on your enemies utilizing a personal blend of skill, powerful weapons, vertical movement, and unique power-ups that allow you to play as a demon.”

DOOM is available now on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
