We’re just a couple of weeks away from the launch of the much anticipated Doom Eternal. For those who are planning on playing the game for PC, the PC Requirements were recently posted to the Steam Store page, only for them to be taken down not long after. No reason was given as to why this happened, but it’s more than likely that id Software and Bethesda want to go over it once more before making the specifications public. However, some were able to capture an image of the list and has since made its way around the internet.
As you can see in the above tweet, the actual requirements by themselves are a bit intimidating, and when you glance over to the recommended side, it’s quite overwhelming to see. In fact, this might be one of the few titles to put a GeForce GTX 1080 and an RTX 2060 in the recommended section. Both graphic cards are fairly high in value in the PC market, so unless you’ve been upgrading each and every year, it’s possible that you won’t be hitting that 1440p resolution at 60 fps.
Of course, if you’re just hoping that the game will run with your current set up, then just keep to the requirement side. Chances are you’ll still hit those desired frames, but unless your playing on a 4k monitor that can reach 144hz, don’t expect the visuals to be much better than the 2016 entry in the series. At least the storage requirement isn’t all that bad, as 50 GB is considered tame by today’s standards. The processor, RAM, and operating system are all still the same when it comes to playing AAA titles on PC, at least for now.
With most games ramping up the overall presentation, gameplay, and visual draw distances, we wouldn’t be surprised if future titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 will end up commanding a much higher PC set up to even run it at minimum settings. As for Doom Eternal, it will be interesting to see the final PC requirement list whenever the studio decides to put it back on the store’s page, but we don’t think it will change all that much from what we’ve already seen.
Doom Eternal will launch on March 20 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will release for the Nintendo Switch later in 2020.
