Domo-kun is one of those Japanese creations where you either get it or you don’t, much like Doraemon and Hello Kitty. Thankfully, you don’t really have to “get” Domo-kun to download Domo Jump, the latest game featuring the eternally grimacing creature for iOS.
Just as the title implies, the player must help Domo-kun jump his way through various levels platform style and grab gems and diamonds in order to earn prizes like “kawaii” outfits and snacks that are sure to be oishii – delicious. The gameplay is similar to perennial favorite Doodle Jump.
For those who are wondering, Domo-kun originated as a stop-motion animated television network mascot in Japan during the ’90s and, after catching the fancy of the public, now appears on all sorts of merchandise. He even has his own comic book in North America.
