Digimon World: Next Order is Scheduled to Launch Early 2017

Bandai Namco announced today that Digimon World: Next Order is being released in the Americas sometime early 2017 for the Playstation 4. The game was released in March of this year.

The story of Digimon World: Next Order begins with the players being transferred into the world under attack from Machinedramons. After you successfully rescue two Digimon, you must travel throughout the land with your new-found companions to battle back the Machinedramon horde and discover a path back to your home.

With most Digimon games, in order to succeed you must power up your digital friends through combat throughout the game. Next Order is said to have over two-hundred Digimon for you to collect and train. You also have some customization options for your character and party. You can choose between playing as a male or female character, and for the first time ever, explore the world with two Digimon partners. Cooperation between you and your Digimon is crucial to beating back the Machinedramon menace, which is the only way for you to ever see your family again. (we assume that is the goal)

The Direct of Brand and Latin America Marketing at Bandai Namco, Jason Enos said about the franchise, “[It] is enjoying a resurgence in popularity and we’re excited to deliver a new Digimon adventure to fans; fueling the flames of their enthusiasm.” He said that Next Order is “taking the concept of raising and nurturing Digimon to a new level. Only the best and most diligent Digimon Tamers will be able to save the Digital World from its eminent destruction.”

While the game has no official release date, Namco appears to be confident in an early 2017 release.
