

In an overnight presentation held in Japan, Bandai Namco and developer Media.Vision shared a wealth of new information about the latest entry in the Digimon Story series of monster taming role-playing game games, Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Gematsu reports that some of these major details shared at Digimon Con 2025 included characters, setting, plot details, and the Digimon count.
The setting of Digimon Story: Time Stranger is Tokyo, Japan featuring both access to the Human World and the Digital World: Iliad. You will assume the role of an agent of ADAMAS, specializing in investigating anomalous phenomena; they encounter a Digimon and are caught in an explosion sending them eight years into the past, sparking a quest to prevent the world’s collapse.
In the Gematsu report Media.Vision Producer Ryosuke Hara commented on the game’s setting “As I mentioned while introducing the Human World, we really paid attention to the sense of immersion in the story. We took extra care to enhance this, and tried to avoid making any choices that might inhibit it. We’ve especially dedicated our efforts to developing the story. I believe that the overall setting, the construction, and appearance of each area, and so on, are all important parts of setting the stage to enhance the story…”
The player will choose a male or female character; one will serve as the player character and the other as an operator providing feedback and support from headquarters. You’ll battle with three Digimon and a Digimon named Aegiomon. Players will choose from Patamon, Gomamon, or DemiDevimon as their teammates. A collection of 12 guardian Digmon known as Olympos XII will make an appearance in Digimon Story: Time Stranger. This Digimon Story title contains 450 unique Digimon to train.
The hype surrounding Digimon Story: Time Stranger since its initial reveal, appears to be actualizing into what may be a quality monster taming title. What is more certain is that the excitement surrounding the title is likely to keep fans eager for more.
